Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FLARE (the "Service"), a social networking platform inspired by customizable personal pages. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years oldto create an account. If you are between 16 and the age of majority where you live, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission. We may require age verification and may suspend accounts that fail verification.

2. Accounts and usernames

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Usernames must follow our format rules, may not impersonate others, and must not be reserved or misleading. We may reclaim usernames that violate these rules.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of content you post (profile text, guestbook messages, themes, CSS, media you upload). You grant FLAREa worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights to post your content and that it does not infringe others' rights.

4. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, dox, or exploit minors
• Post illegal content, including CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or fraud
• Spam, scrape at scale, or abuse APIs / rate limits
• Bypass age gates, bans, or security controls
• Use malicious CSS/JS attempts, phishing themes, or malware links
• Sell or transfer accounts without our permission

5. Themes, CSS, and customization

Custom themes and CSS run in a sandboxed profile context. You must not attempt to break out of that sandbox, steal sessions, or inject tracking that violates our Privacy Policy. We may remove themes that are harmful, deceptive, or illegal.

6. Music and third-party streams

Radio stations and custom stream URLs are provided for personal, non-commercial profile ambiance. You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any stream URL you add. Third-party stations (for example SomaFM) remain subject to their own terms.

7. Moderation and enforcement

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend / terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We may also report illegal content to authorities where required by law.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" during early access. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. FLARE is an independent product and is not affiliated with any third-party social network from the 2000s.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FLARE and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
